  7.     Paul Tsongas, the only declared contender for the 1992
  8. Democratic presidential nomination, may have some unlikely
  9. company. Associates of JERRY BROWN say the former California
  10. Governor yearns for elective office and is nursing a slim hope
  11. that his state's anticlimactic June primary could be advanced
  12. to March, when it would be a better springboard. Still more
  13. improbable is the gathering of support for consumer gadfly RALPH
  14. NADER. "I'm a citizen, not a politician," protests the lonely
  15. crusader. But he has yet to disavow his followers' efforts to
  16. get his name on the Democratic slate.
